BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

This morning, at the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale, members were treated to an upbeat, POSITIVE message from one of its own members - Ericka Sanborn, a middle school English teacher at Saint Thomas Catholic School in Sanford.

She began her teaching career at Saint Joseph's College in Windham.  Following that, she moved to the Catherine McAuley School for Girls in Portland and now, returned to her native city of Sanford, after a brief stint at the York County Communit...
ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS (R.Y.L.A.)

At the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale, held at the Nasson Little Theater on Thursday, August 4, members and guests were treated to hearing accounts from five local high school students about their experiences attending the R.Y.L.A. camp in June.  The program was developed in 1971 as a means by where (at least in the local Rotary District) students just finishing their sophomore year of high school, are sponsored to participate in a "intensive leadership experience".

It is safe to say that no day is the same as another day in Colleen's world.  She told the Rotarians, "Every time I begin a day, I have a checklist.  By the end of that day, I have even more item...

Returning to a long-time tradition of having the change-over event (changing of the guard for the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale) at the camp belonging to Tom and Judy Jagger on the eastern shore of Mousam Lake, club members and guests gathered for an informal "cook-out", with everyone bringing a side dish of one type or another.  Looking off to the west, with the American flag waving proudly, was the perfect setting for this event, especially to begin the INDEPENDENCE DAY Celebrations over t...

On Thursday, June 23rd, members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale volunteered to serve fans and supporters of the Sanford Mainers, as they faced the North Shore Navigators at Goodall Park.  There was barely any parking space available in the lot and along neaerby streets.  "Sanford Mainers - southern Maine's Premier baseball experience, provide family-friendly fun for the entire community" according to their brochure.

Local Rotarians and "friends of Rotary" are, from Left to right: Jessic...
