York County Lakes Region

York County has a long and storied past. Settled prior to the formation of the United States, residents have long understood the immense natural beauty of what is Southern Mane.  Today, the region is just as magnificent as it was then. Properties along the many lakes of York County have it all; pristine waters, vibrant wildlife, and the friendliest of neighbors!

York County and her lakes are perhaps best summed up in the Springvale Fish and Game Club’s publication “Views In and Around Springvale, Maine” in 1931:

"Five miles north of Springvale one is suddenly permitted a scene of rare beauty. Sweeping around a slight curve in the state highway, there is unfolded a panoramic view of Mousam Lake, between thickly wooded, irregular and artistic shores, stretching miles to the north, beyond which, in the same picture, are the White Mountains. On the shores of Mousam, hidden among the refreshing pines, the green hemlocks and the graceful birches are the summer homes of residents of nearby towns and states."
