FELIX'S HOME GETS A FACELIFT!

On June 9th, members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale welcomed Mary Gannaway, of Sanford, when she provided them with a full accounting of a project near and dear to her heart.  Mary, a former music teacher in the Sanford School system, met a gentleman from the community, who had fallen on hard times and asked for her help.  His name is Felix and he lives not too far from downtown Sanford.

IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL FOR LOCAL ROTARIANS!!!

Members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale recently were hosted by the Sanford Regional Technical Center for breakfast and then a tour of several different divisions - Culinary Arts. Landscaping-Greenhouse, Child Care, Robotics and Fire Fighting.

After all State and County fairs were closed down this past year by Governor Mills, this year was a welcome relief of that mandate.  Being one of the first Fairs in Maine, the Acton Fair enjoyed its 155th year in existence, with great enthusiasm from locals, as well as tourists from out-of-state.

A few years ago, I decided to take a course which would help me with serving our military - active duty and veterans, and their families.  The course was one day and I believe lasted for about nine hours - teaching, discussion, quizzes and then a final exam - in order to obtain the MRP (Military Relocation Professional) certification.  There are a number of reasons I chose to seek this particular designation, but foremost was the fact that my father was a veteran.
