SANFORD FARMER'S MARKET

For everyone who lives in this area or who is visiting, put it on your calendar EVERY SATURDAY from now until October, to not only VISIT the Sanford Farmer's Market at Central Park in downtown Sanford, but also to stop and talk with these farmers and most important, to PURCHASE from them.  

The operating hours are 8:00 a.m. until NOON!

There are several positives for doing this:

1. You are supporting LOCAL FARMERS

2. You will be able to purchase the FRESHEST produce anywhere around - grown locally in Acton, Shapleigh, Gorham, Waterboro and Limerick to name a few towns.

3. You will also be supporting the efforts of local farmers who support VOUCHERS FOR VETS.  This program provides vouchers for Veterans to also purchase the freshest produce and in a small way, you are saying, "Thank you" to our Veterans who have served our country.

Make sure you check out the Facebook Page for Sanford Farmer's Market to find some good recipes, as well as some of the produce offered there. 

Just last week, I found out about locally grown MUSHROOMS, and I stopped by to purchase some. They were absolutely delicious and easy to prepare.  I also purchased what I thought were white radishes, but which turned out to be sweet WHITE TURNIP and were they ever delicious!

So take a trip down to the Sanford Farmer's Market and explore and experiment with some new and delicious veggies!
