Local ROTARIANS "Pitch In" for the Sanford Mainers!

On Thursday, June 23rd, members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale volunteered to serve fans and supporters of the Sanford Mainers, as they faced the North Shore Navigators at Goodall Park.  There was barely any parking space available in the lot and along neaerby streets.  "Sanford Mainers - southern Maine's Premier baseball experience, provide family-friendly fun for the entire community" according to their brochure.

The podcast was hosted by Bob McKinnon - one of the original team which developed the first region of CENTURY 21 in Southern California.  Bob now serves as director of Leadership for EXIT Realty Corp. International.  

It was a privilege and honor to spend time with one of the legends in the Real Estaate industry.

FELIX'S HOME GETS A FACELIFT!

On June 9th, members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale welcomed Mary Gannaway, of Sanford, when she provided them with a full accounting of a project near and dear to her heart.  Mary, a former music teacher in the Sanford School system, met a gentleman from the community, who had fallen on hard times and asked for her help.  His name is Felix and he lives not too far from downtown Sanford.

MEMORIAL DAY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER SEASON

IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL FOR LOCAL ROTARIANS!!!

Members of the Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale recently were hosted by the Sanford Regional Technical Center for breakfast and then a tour of several different divisions - Culinary Arts. Landscaping-Greenhouse, Child Care, Robotics and Fire Fighting.  

In the greenhouse area, students explained how they are involved with growing various plants, composting, planting fruit trees and vegetables in several areas near the school buildings and also marketing to the genereal public at the annual plan...

It is always wonderful to see the changes of the seasons, especially moving from the dead of Winter, through MUD SEASON, and on into Spring!  Here in Maine, in particular, we do have at least five distinct seasons, and some folks think there is a sixth - namely BLACK FLY SEASON!!! As many are unaware, the BLACK FLY is the unofficial State Bird for Maine!!!

Yesterday, April 28th, was the GRAND RE-OPENING of IRON TAILS SALOON in Acton.  It was wonderful having Gregg Martizez, Bruce and Nancy Rossborough and all of the crew back here.

The food and drinks are always great and the entertainment on the weekends is over the top!
